Terms & Conditions

 

RESERVATIONS
Reservations are made upon receipt of full payment.  No reservation exists until full payment is received and as such, late payment may result in loss of availability.  Clients are advised to double check all dates and times stated on their invoice before making payment, as in doing so they agree to the precise hours stated.

 

CONFIRMATION

Payment will be taken as the client’s acknowledgement of, and agreement to, all stated terms and conditions.  Confirmation will be emailed to the Client when payment is received.  Lack of email confirmation may mean that payment has not been received and the Client is advised to contact the School to check the status of the booking.

 

PAYMENTS

Payment is accepted via Bank Transfer, Euro Cheque and Credit Card payment.  Payment upon arrival is not accepted except in the case of last-minute “walk-in” reservations.  Please note that payments by foreign (non-French) cheques will incur an additional processing fee.  Any problems with payments should be brought to the attention of the Ski School immediately.  Online money transfers are secured by Credit Mutuel and are made at the client’s own risk.  Payments made by credit card over the telephone may require bank clearance.

 

CANCELLATION

In the case of cancellation by the Client, the following charges will apply:

More than 28 days’ notice ………  full refund given

Less than 28 days’ notice ……... no refund given, reservation name may be transferred


No refund will be given, in whole or in part, by the Ski School in cases of non-presentation due to misunderstanding of reservation details, illness, injury, resort or lift closure, adverse weather conditions, late arrival/delay of any kind, or due to any other reason outside of the School’s control.  In these cases the School is happy to provide a letter as proof of cancellation/non-attendance for the purposes of insurance.  Insurance against cancellation can be purchased through the Ski School or from the Client’s own provider.


The Ski School reserves the right to cancel its lessons or change lesson timings for various reasons, including those outside of its control.  Full refunds of unused lessons will be made in this instance.


If the Ski School cancels a session, only the value of the cancelled activity will be refunded.  No further compensation will be provided.  Refunds will be made only by Euro Cheque and are to be collected from the Ski School office by the Client.  Alternatively, refund by bank transfer is possible and will incur a 20€ fee.  Where possible, the School prefers to deal with refunds while the Client is still in resort.

ZigZag instructors reserve the right to refuse entry to group lessons to any guest under the influence of alcohol.  No refund or credit is offered in this instance.

 

GROUP LESSONS

Group lessons are scheduled according to numbers enrolled.  A minimum number of 4 children (or 3 adults) is required to open a group lesson at the standard advertised “Group Lesson” rate.  When there are fewer than 4 children enrolled in a group, the class duration will be reduced accordingly, as follows:

4 to 8 children enrolled – 12.5hrs of tuition (no change to standard group lesson duration)

3 children enrolled – 9.5hrs of tuition at the standard group lesson rate

2 children enrolled – 6.5hrs of tuition at the standard group lesson rate

1 child enrolled – 3.5hrs of tuition  at the standard group lesson rate

A credit or refund may be offered at the ski school’s discretion.

 

INSURANCE

Please note that lesson rates do not include lift passes, equipment hire or insurance of any kind, either on or off piste.  We recommend all Clients take out insurance for peace of mind.  Please note that off piste activities require special additional insurance.  The Ski School does not take responsibility for any injuries incurred during, before or after a lesson.  Insurance against lesson cancellation and injury should be purchased from the Client’s own insurance provider, or is also available to purchase through ZigZag.

 

GENERAL

If the Client has a problem, complaint, or is in any way dissatisfied with the service provided by the Ski School, they should make the School administration aware immediately so that the issue may be resolved promptly.   Complaints should be made directly with the Ski School’s administration (not instructors) before the Client leaves the resort in order that a resolution may be found and agreed upon in person.  Complaints made more than 7 days after the event may be discounted.

Lessons will begin and end at standard meeting points.  Variations from these meeting points may be arranged with private instructors only, at the Client’s risk of misunderstanding.


Clients are asked to respect start and finish times of lessons.  Lessons begin and end at the agreed times even if the Client arrives late. To be fair to other Clients in group sessions, group instructors will not wait for latecomers.  Parents should arrive 5-10mins before the end of the group lesson in order to meet the group as they finish.  Older children may be left to wait for late parents at the meeting point at the instructor’s discretion.


For the Client’s safety and that of others, it is a condition of booking that the instructor’s professional judgement is respected while the Client is under his or her instruction.  Clients must be aware that all off-piste activities involve a level of risk even when accompanied by an instructor or guide.


Skiing and snowboarding require a high level of physical effort, so all Clients are to present themselves in a fit and safe condition for physical activity in the mountain environment.  Clients are asked to inform the Ski School and/or their instructor of any situation, medical or otherwise, of which the instructor should be aware.

All prices and services, terms and conditions are subject to change at the School’s absolute discretion.
