Q: Does my instructor have a qualification?
A: ZigZag instructors hold the world's highest ski and snowboard instructing qualification - the full French national BEES 1st degree diploma - which allows them to legally register as a snowsports teacher in France. Our team consists only of fully nationally qualified professionals, and we do not employ trainee instructors. Our High and Middle Mountain Guides also hold full relevant qualifications.

Q: Will my instructor speak English?
A: ZigZag instructors are selected for their professionalism, enthusiasm, experience and teaching ability. While the vast majority speak excellent fluent English, those with more limited English are selected for to their excellence in communication and teaching, and are guaranteed to have the skills to teach in a professional manner. If problems arise regarding an instructor’s ability to communicate please let us know as soon as possible.
Q: Do children need to wear helmets?
A: Helmets are not compulsary, but we do very highly recommend them. Many of our instructors wear helmets for their own safety and in order to set a good example to the children they teach.
Q: Does ZigZag provide a rental service?
A: No, we recommend you speak to your accommodation provider as they may have an arrangement with a rental shop that will entitle you to a discount.
Q: Do I need to come to the office before my first lesson?
A: No, if you've booked and paid then you just need to present yourself at the appropriate meeting point 5 minutes before your lesson starts.

Q: Will my lesson still run if the weather is bad?
A: All lessons run as scheduled until a resort is fully closed. Lessons run as normal in snowy or rainy conditions and it is only high winds that may disrupt planned lessons due to lift closures. The office will contact you if your lesson is to be altered, and otherwise you should assume it will run as planned. For more information about lesson cancellation please read our Terms & Conditions.
Q: Do I need a lift pass?
A: Every person using the Grand Massif's lift service needs to be carrying an appropriate lift pass at all times. People over 75 and under 5 years of age will be given passes free of charge, but must still carry them on their person.
Q: Why is ZigZag more expensive than other local ski schools ?
A: We operate a small private business and your satisfaction is our goal. You can be sure you’re booking a passionate, involved instructor who is genuinely interested in helping you to progress as fast as possible. To guarantee this, we hire only the best and pay our instructors accordingly. The main difference it that, in the interest of student progress, our group sizes are kept very small – so you get more for your money.
