Le Pas de Sales

Departing from Samoens, Morillon or Les Carroz, you'll ski with your guide to Flaine, warming up with a few off piste runs on the way.  Once in Flaine, you'll quickly leave the Grand Massif ski area and head "out-of-bounds" down through rolling powder fields into the ghost-town of Sales.  This tiny farming village is abandoned in winter due to its near total inaccessibility, and skiing through it you'll understand why.

After a picnic lunch in the village, your guide will harness you up.  Why?  Because there's a 50m overhanging abseil required to exit the valley!  The only way out is over a stunning, 50m high frozen waterfall, with your skis on your back and your heart in your mouth.  (No abseiling experience is necessary and you're safe in your guide's experienced hands).

The untouched forests of Sixt offer a magnificently scenic descent into the village, where a quick ride on the ski bus will bring you back to Samoens or Morillon.

Full day booking of a High Mountain Guide required.  Intermediate level of off piste ski/snowboard ability required.  Cost 330€ for 1-4pers, +50€ for each additional person up to a maximum of 8pers.  Pack your own picnic lunch.
